APG Homes - The Riviera

Spacer
Already a winner, now it's even better

Writer:  Cathy Watts
Publication:  The New Homes Guide -The West Australian
Date:  8 August 2009

While APG Homes' two-storey Riviera display in Woodlands is clever and practical, with plenty of room for a growing family, its specifications set it apart.

The company's sales and marketing manager Leo Callisto said the design was all about taking a two-storey home to the next level.

"We have taken a very popular configuration with the way the home is laid out the main bedroom is downstairs and the children upstairs and looked at other ways to finish it at a higher level of specification," he said.

"We have introduced additional finishes to show what can be achieved. People don't have to spend extra to upgrade their appliances and tiling, what you see in the display is what you get.

"We have given it a fresh look that is suited to today's lifestyle and that will stand the test of time."

One of the notable extras is custom cabinetry throughout the home.

In the main bedroom, the walk-in robe has two sets of five drawers, additional shelving and hanging space.

The kitchen cabinetry has an integrated look, with a long wall of cupboard doors and drawers hiding the individual kitchen elements behind them.

The benches have solid stone tops, including the island bench with raised splashback which can double as a breakfast bar.

A second bench has several banks of drawers underneath for additional storage, and there is a walk-in pantry.

A fridge and freezer are included, with integrated fridge doors, as is the built-in microwave and coffee machine.

Below the coffee machine is a space for mugs, tea and coffee one of the little touches that shows the level of attention to detail. Views to the alfresco dining area are available from the kitchen, dining and family areas, and from a corner window in the theatre room.

The laundry is through a discreet, recessed sliding door in the kitchen. It has matching cabinetry, including a clothes drawer and a walk-in linen cupboard.

The bathrooms have a long stone-topped vanity in the ensuite, a big shower with a frameless glass pivot door, big mirrors and a separate toilet.

Upstairs, the three bedrooms are big, as is the activity room and the bathroom. Double doors open from the activity room to a balcony.

"I like to think the elevation has some contemporary elements but it is also quite classical and will work in a modern subdivision or an established suburb," Mr Callisto said.

"It is smart looking but with a more conservative approach than some, especially the colours.

"It is definitely a family home, perhaps for older children because they do have their own separate zone and living room upstairs."
