Homebuyers Centre - Rosewood Heights

Quartet to share Ellenbrook stage

Writer: Beth Muhling
Publication: The New Homes Guide -The West Australian
Date: 27 September 2008

A Homebuyers Centre development under way in Ellenbrook may be a small-lot show but it's sure to attract a big audience.

In particular, it will appeal to buyers who'd like to make life easier by purchasing a home off the plan, leaving the hard work to the building company.

Sales and marketing manager Anthony Staltari said it was a four-home development on one site with a central driveway. Construction had started and the homes, expected to be ready by March, were for sale.

Prices start at $375,000.

The development was in a street called Rosewood Heights in the most established precinct in Ellenbrook, Woodlake Village. "It has an incredible lake system, some great parks and a little amphitheatre," Mr Staltari said. "The schools are up and running and the infrastructure is all there."

He said the homes were designed to make the most of their space and three of them had three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

"They're very well designed and that's the key," he said. One had four bedrooms, catering for those who wanted a small-lot home with four bedrooms, something that was hard to find.

Each had a double garage, a storeroom, a home theatre or a separate lounge and a covered alfresco area under the main roof.

"There are also nice outdoor courtyards," Mr Staltari said. It was a strata development but there were no adjoining walls apart from two garages which had a shared wall. The homes were bigger than villas, each covering 155sqm.

While Homebuyers Centre had traditionally catered for first homebuyers, "downsizers" were now also an important market. Empty nesters wanted to get out of big four-bedroom, two-bathroom homes but still wanted good quality.

"One unit has been specially designed with additional area for a person with a boat or caravan and they'll have their own gates and driveway," he said.

This would appeal to someone who was downsizing and wanted to be able to close up the house and go on holidays.

The homes would be fully finished with fittings including low-voltage downlights and high-quality floor coverings including timber, tiles and carpet.

They would have galley-style kitchens with overhead cupboards and range hoods. Built-in robes and double vanities and showers in the ensuites were other inclusions in the homes.
