Transportable Home Finance

The term "manufactured" or "transportable home" is used to describe houses that are built in a factory before being delivered to site by a truck in one or more sections.   

Ryan Underwood, Sales and Marketing Manager at TR Homes, says "Manufactured homes should not be confused with mobile homes.  Once on location, manufactured or transportable homes are permanent structures like any other home." 

 

Thanks to new technology, manufactured homes can be built faster and often are less expensive than a traditionally constructed home in a rural area.

 

When it comes to financing, manufactured home loans are significantly different to a traditional construction loan.

 

Ryan says "As a transportable home loan is markedly different to a traditional construction loan, you need to ensure that your finance is being handled by a specialist.  Manufactured homes generally do not meet the guidelines for the majority of lenders in Australia, so it is important that your finance broker is aware of the potential issues with transportable home finance."
